I don’t know why but a lot of things changed when I worked in a call center. Before, I used to be a home-body. I always look forward to my rest days for that’s the only time when I can truly spend my time at home. Watch TV, read books, listen to music but now I look forward to outings more than that of spending my time at home. I guess it’s because of the level of stress that I have to endure each day at work to meet the company’s goals. Going on a holiday is a way to get some time off from everything! From the city and from the people that you interact with each day (well, at times that’s true). And one of my favorite destinations are beach resorts. And the ultimate beach resort destination that I’ve been to as of the moment was Alegre Beach Resort in Calumboyan Sogod Island, Cebu. It is one of those resorts in the Philippines that are like hotels combined with luxury and nature. Luxurious because of the amenities that they offer their clients. A bathroom is covered with marble tiles from the floor to the ceilings, a bath tub (complete with mint bath salt and mint scented bath gel), a shower room (with bath gel, bath soap, shampoo and conditioner all mint scented as well), a counter top (with a bar soap and lotion which is mint scented as well and get this… a hair dryer!). That is why, most of my colleagues were so excited about the bathroom. But what I love about the resort are:
1. The bed that was so comfortable that I slept like a baby.
2. The restaurant that served the best dishes and the best leche flan so far (it was so good that I think I’ve felt euphoria).
3. The surroundings especially in the morning (I’ll just post the pictures again for you to see what I mean).
4. The crew who are so nice and courteous (I think I have said Good Morning a dozen times in one morning! I guess that’s the reason why I had a great morning that day.)
Alright, I guess am making a lot of fuss about this and I know there are a lot of other resorts who offer the same things but like what I’ve said, this is the ultimate resort that I’ve been to as of the moment and the best experience that I had in a resort. That’s why am writing about it but that doesn’t mean I will stop going to other resorts and stop meeting new people and stop experiencing new things. Because who knows I might have better experiences to write about. Right?
I’ve heard this song in Dylan’s site and I so liked it that I went ahead and searched for the band. And I am so lucky for they have a site which brought me to their youtube site where I found videos of the songs that they played. I don’t know if you guys have heard them but for those who hasn’t well don’t despair for I bring you Boyce Avenue.
Anyway, this song kinda hits the spot that is why among the videos that was posted in their site, I posted this one on my site.
Boyce Avenue is a Florida-based band popular for its strong acoustic roots and constant drive toward a melody- and harmony-driven rock sound, consists of the three brothers Alejandro, Fabian, and Daniel Manzano, and Stephen Hatker.
So guys, give it up for Alejandro Manzano of Boyce Avenue with their version of Rihanna and Neyo’s HATE THAT I LOVE YOU!
Yeah, I really do hate the fact that I love you boy but question is do you even know that I love you? (No need to ask who it was cause I ain’t tellin’.)
You can’t talk peace and have a gun. A line from the Kaleidoscope sung by Francis Magalona, a local artist nabbed as the Master Rapper of the Philippines. Ironic but it’s true. The MILF said that they want to talk about peace but when the MOA did not push through, another conflict between them and the government has arised forcing the people in certain parts of Mindanao Christians and Islams alike to leave their homes to avoid being in the line of fire. I wonder when will this conflict end? It has been going on even before I was born and like the people born in those areas, I am losing all hope that I will be seeing a peacful Mindanao in my lifetime. But why? Why can’t the people in Mindanao live with one another like we live with other people regardless of our race and religion in the other parts of the country? What makes Mindanao so different from Luzon and Visayas? Aren’t we all Filipinos? We may have chosen a different path in terms of religion but do we really have to let it come in between all of us? I am sorry but I personally believe that the MOA is not the answer to the issue. You know, people can achieve whatever they want to achieve regardless of who their leader is, what religion they have or what system of government they have. If you’ll open your eyes and start seeing what’s around, you’ll know what I mean.
I felt sad watching the news on what’s happening in Mindanao last night. The conflict is no longer about ideals. This is about gaining more power which scares me more. Because a person who wants power and gets it is never satisfied. Because the more power a person has the more greedy he becomes. That is why there’s a saying that goes never give power to a person who wants it.
Never had this feeling for a while now but sheesh… I’ve never been this bored for months. It’s like everytime I wake up I have a lot of things going in my mind that I didn’t know what to do first. But it all changed when my rest day changed. Shoot! When my rest day was on a Saturday and a Sunday, when I get home on Saturday from work, I open up my computer, blog hop and post a blog. Sleep until 3 AM the next day check in with the TLs about my team, go to church at 5AM then do more blogging, watch tv, sleep, go to the mall and sleep some more. When I wake up on Monday, I do some blogging, go to sleep, wake up and go to work. Some kind of a life huh? I know it’s not much but trust me, I never got bored. But now, my goodness, I went out yesterday to see Weng but when I got home after creating a post I went to sleep. No tv. No malls. Grrr… Now I woke up and I don’t have anything in mind. Which is kinda wierd because by the time I got back from Manila, I always have my work in mind even on a weekend… Oh-oh… Now that’s worrying me… And I guess that’s the reason why I feel bored. I don’t have any plans of action when I get to work tonight… Whoah…
I don’t know exactly when this church was built. All I can say is this was built in the Spanish Era based on it’s structure. St. Catherine’s church is located in Carcar City, Cebu. It’s a 45 minute to and hour ride from Cebu City. I went there with my friend David and Alfonso. I didn’t know it then but it turned out we love old buildings and we love to take pictures of the places where we go to.
*Again pictures were taken using my Sony Ericsson k700i phone. Lovely!
My brother and I watched The Dark Knight last 29th of July, after I arrived from Alegre Beach Resort. I know this movie is the talk of the town recently and I can now understand why. Different people saw different things from the movie and I realized that when Ed and I had a conversation about it. I remember him talking about how Heath Ledger portrayed his character and he said it in a very intense way that I decided right then and there that I want to watch it. And he was right Heath was great in the movie but along with that agreement, I have realized a lot of things. One, is the way how people reacted on the situations that the Joker had ployed. It’s kinda scary because that is how we normally act when we are placed in a situation that we will have to think about our survival. It’s just a good thing that in the part where he plotted to have the people in the two ferries to blow up each other, both parties decided to not blow up anybody. But with all that is happening in our society right now, it made me wonder if people would do the same thing if we will be placed in the same situation. Will we throw the detonator out the window or are we going to kill each other the same way as the gang who were given sticks to fight over a single slot for the Joker’s gang.
Then there’s Bruce Wayne. I do pity him and the people like him. You know how some people could have all wealth in world but they usually don’t get what they really want. In Bruce Wayne’s case, he couldn’t get the girl that he loves. And the worst thing is, he never had any closure with Jane. I don’t know which is worse:
a.) knowing that the person that you love doesn’t love you
b.) not knowing at all if the person loves you or not
c.) be in the position of Alfred where he kept the truth that Jane doesn’t love Bruce and look at Bruce in the eye while he is grieving for his lost love.
Hmmm… I wanna have a song for each week… Let see… For this week, I encourage you guys to listen to this song by a band from the Philippines named Bamboo, which happened to be my favorite band in the Philippines!
Well, I promised that I will be posting pictures of Vistamar but I only posted two because I was having a hard time posting pictures then. But now that I know a thing or two in posting pictures, I’ll go ahead and post the rest of the pictures in this article.
By the way, did I mention that Vistamar is a Clubhouse/Resort of a subdivision? So if you wanna live near a clubhouse that has a resort feel in Compostela, Cebu Vistamar still has lots for sale.
*Again the Pictures here are taken using my Sony k700i phone.
