Just how crazy can your colleagues get?

   Posted by: michy   in General

Another tiring day for me. It’s already 9AM and I just arrived home. We had a meeting (as usual) about a lot of things. Most of them are about our action plans and some of them are about senseless things. And it seems that my boss and the rest of the team has made it a part of the objectives of the business to find me a boyfriend. Sheesh… Do I really look that desperate? They even suggested that I go on VL this weekend so that I can go with them to party. They said that will help. And I was like, and what is the assurance that I will be getting a boyfriend if I go out and party? Which was a rhetorical question which made them laugh… What the heck?! And then my brilliant boss came up with an idea that I should have a date on Saturday night. And so she instructed my colleague to ask his brother to go with us to become my date. And they were like Michy we’re sure by Monday you will call Will as your brother-in-law. Crazy! Crazy people! Just when I thought I got away from people who are desperate to find me a boyfriend (like my dad), here comes my friends and colleagues. Am I really that old to not have a boyfriend these days? Sheesh…

P.S.

Mark gave me a copy of Avatar. He did not lend it but gave it. He really kept his word! Thanks Mark! (At least now I don’t have to worry about returning them. hehehe…)

How can I win an argument with my parents?

   Posted by: michy   in Rumblings

I really don’t know how parents do it but I can’t seem to win any arguments with my parents.  You know even if I meant well, I seem to end up feeling guilty everytime I had an argument with them, especially my mom.  I am into customer service and I have convinced a lot people in my three years of stay in this industry but not my parents.  Why is that?  Is it because they know me too well?  Is it because they know more than I do? Or is it because of the respect that I have for them that everytime I argue with them I feel guilty about it?  If that is so, then who should we blame for it?  Is it the culture that we have in the Philippines?  Sheesh… I really can’t say but one thing for sure though, I would really want to maintain my relationship with my parents so I am looking for ways to win our arguments.  Or at least find ways to state what’s in my mind and not feel guilty about it.  I really don’t know how to do this.  I wonder if there is any course about the art of winning an argument with your parents.  Because if there is, I might consider to take that up.

Stick with you

   Posted by: michy   in General

by Pussycat dolls

I don’t want to go another day
So I’m telling you exactly what is on my mind
Seems like everybody is breaking up
Throwing their love away
I know I got a good thing right here
That’s why I say

Nobody’s going to love me better
I must stick with you forever
Nobody’s going to take me higher
I must stick with you
You know how to appreciate me
I must stick with you
My baby
Nobody ever made me feel this way
I must stick with you

I don’t want to go another day
So I’m telling you exactly what is on my mind
See the way we ride
In our private lives
Ain’t nobody getting in between
I want you to know that you’re the only one for me
And I say

Nobody’s going to love me better
I must stick with you forever
Nobody’s going to take me higher
I must stick with you
You know how to appreciate me
I must stick with you
My baby
Nobody ever made me feel this way
I must stick with you

And now
Ain’t nothing else I can need
And now
I’m singing ’cause you’re so, so into me
I got you
We’ll be making love endlessly
I’m with you
Baby, you’re with me

So don’t you worry about
People hanging around
They ain’t bringing us down
I know you and you know me
And that’s all that counts
So don’t you worry about
People hanging around
They ain’t bringing us down
I know you and you know me
And that’s why I say

Nobody’s going to love me better
I must stick with you forever
Nobody’s going to take me higher
I must stick with you
You know how to appreciate me
I must stick with you
My baby
Nobody ever made me feel this way
I must stick with you

Nobody’s going to love me better
I must stick with you forever
Nobody’s going to take me higher
I must stick with you
You know how to appreciate me
I must stick with you
My baby
Nobody ever made me feel this way
I must stick with you

This must be my favorite pussycat dolls song of all time!  But I don’t have anybody to sing it to yet.  ;-)

Outdoor Ads

   Posted by: michy   in General

digital signageDue to globalization, winning your targeted market becomes tougher and tougher.  Companies who wants to remain competetive are on the lookout for the best way to reach a wider audience to promote their products.  Hence Outdoor Ads was born.  Although outdoor ads are not new in the world of advertisement.  It’s only the media used that changes but the concept is old.  Outdoor ads can go back to ancient Greece and ancient Rome were businessmen used papyrus to advertise their products.  As technology evolved, people started printing it on paper (when printing machines were invented), then we have the billboards which I think replaced the wall painting ad campaign concept in most countries and then my favorite of all, the digital signage ad which, I think was pioneered by the Japanese (you will have to correct me on this if am wrong).   The good thing about digital signage is it’s so versatile that you can use it indoors.  Companies can also use them to communicate important information to it’s employees, it’s eye catching so information can be desiminated faster (I mean who wouldn’t look up to those moving images right?).  It’s cost effective (for companies who wants to improve their sales, for compared to putting an ad on tv digital signage gives you more “air time”), effiecient (for you wouldn’t need to have your employees waste their time giving out pamphlets) and above all it’s environment friendly (for you don’t need paper for this concept.  All you need is a screen to display the images and a media player to play the ad).

electrolux-flatshare-fridge 4AM, September 17th, 2008.  After eating my “breakfast”, I went ahead and went through my messages on my chatbox and clicked on the links of my fellow bloggers.  And so I was brought to the Technology in Daily Life’s site and saw this refrigerator which reminded me of my friends who complained about missing food that are stored in the fridge.  And the culprits… are the rats that stands on two legs and can look around the fridge without disturbing what’s inside of the fridge.  And since there are a lot of you in the house, you can’t point your finger to whoever because you are not too sure if your charges are correct.  So for those friends of mine, here is the answer to all your worries.  A flatshare fridge with multiple doors so each one of you can actually get his/her space.  With this new model, you will no longer hear lines like “oh I’m sorry, I thought that was mine,” or “it wasn’t me”.  However, am not sure if these doors comes with a lock.  I hope they do.  If not, then I sure hope that Electrolux, the manufacturers of the said fridge will consider adding that into their designs.  Hehehe… ;-)

   Posted by: michy   in Rumblings

Finally! I could lay down and get some sleep!  I worked from 8PM last night til 7AM today.  Went around the city and visited the sites of those who had visited me in the last three days! I have been so tired to go around and visit them.  I hope they will accept my apologizes.  Anyway, after three hours of checking out my message box, visiting and browsing through the sites of my fellow bloggers I am finally done for the day!  I can now go to sleep and worry about my blog tomorrow!  Hay… I never thought browsing can be so draining!  Alright I guess this enough for now! See you around and don’t forget to leave your messages in my message box so that I can get back at you! ;-)

I want to go to Bora!

   Posted by: michy   in General

boraWhoah!!!!!!!!!! Finally my six day work is done!  I am so tired!  I wish I could get away from all these.  Go to a place where you can feel the fresh breeze against you skin.  Go to a quite place where you can just chill and relax.  Maybe a place like Boracay.  White sand, blue waters and blue skies…  Boracay is the Carribbean version of the Philippines.  It is the favorite get away of the Filipinos (who can afford going there) in the summer as the Caribbean is the favorite getaway of the Europeans and the Americans probably one of the ultimate dream destinations of beach lovers all over the world.  I just don’t know if Boracay has it’s own version of Caribbean villa rentals where people get to have the place for themselves andget all the privacy that they want and enjoy the beauty of the place.

Hay… and just like the beach lovers in the world whose ultimate dream is to get to the Carribean, I also dream of going to Boracay. Hehehe…

Have you seen that movie my Big Love of Toni Gonzaga and Sam Milby? Where Sam’s character wants to lose weight for him to win the affection of Khristine Hermosa’s character. And so he went to the gym, hired Toni as his trainer, worked out and went through hell for trying to avoid the food that he truly loves. And then became depressed at some point in the movie (I just can’t remember why) which made him go back to the habit of eating more than he should. So how many people do you know who’s like Sam’s character? People who goes through all the trouble just to lose weight. Go to the gym everyday, starve themselves to death, look for fat burners to burn the fats way or worse go under the knife to get instant results. And then when they get the attention of that person they end up unhappy because they realized that the other person liked them because of their new look not because of who they are as a person. Isn’t it sad? So what am I trying to say? Go through all that trouble because you want to look good for yourself not because you want to get the approval of other people. For people should be liking you for who you are not for what you are.

Yipee…

AangMark said he’ll lend me a copy of Avatar: The Last Airbender, an animation series of the last “air bender”  Aang who turned out to be the incarnated Avatar (the spirit of the planet) who will fight the evil fire lords from the Fire Nation for the other nations (Air, Water and Earth).  I first saw this animation last year on ABC 5 which was produced by the Nickelodeon Animation Studios, but I can’t seem to complete it.  Sheesh…  So yesterday, I learned that he has Avatar and he lent it to William.  And so I asked if I can borrow it and he said he will.  Ho-ho!  Am so happy!  Finally, I get to watch it from the beginning to the end of the story.  I just hope he will remember it.  Mark, remember you promised!  You have to keep your word.  Just so you know, I am terrible in forgiving people.  hehehe…

A verse I liked.

   Posted by: michy   in General

Heal my heart and make it clean
Open up my eyes to the things unseen
Show me how to love like You have loved me

Break my heart for what breaks Yours
Everything I am for Your Kingdom’s cause
As I walk from earth into eternity

Some lovely lines I’ve found this on Gerald’s site
