August!!!

   Posted by: michy   in General

Wow time passes so fast.  I didn’t realized that the last article I wrote was still on the 13th.  Tsk, tsk, tsk… Well, I was a bit caught up with what was happening at work.  Yikes, been transferred to 2 accounts in a month… It may seem that no one wants me in the account but it’s nothing like that.  It was my own decision.  I want to try something new.  I have been part of my previous account for more than 5 years now.  I want to see how it is like to be in another account before I actually decide to leave the company.  Yes, I am planning to leave the company and do what I truly want to do.  I want to travel and cook.  That means, I will apply for jobs abroad and work as a kitchen helper.  I know it’s not easy but with the Lord’s blessings, I will be able to do what I truly love to do and make my dream come true.  :)

Yet, another crossroad…

   Posted by: michy   in General

I guess this is how Dora the Explorer would feel, if she is real, everytime she is asked “where are you going?” by Boots. At least Dora has a map to consult where she is going.  What kind of fate is this? I guess I will have to be more specific about where I wanted to go when I pray. As of the moment, I don’t have a clear direction on which account I should be. The technical account that I am in right now have decided to let go of agents which is the reason why the training class that I am in will be moved to another technical account. Moving people to another account would mean moving team leaders as well. Since the number of TLs would depend on the population of an account, right now, we are over staffed on the TL level as well. I can understand why an Account Manager would prioritize moving a new person to the account since that wouldn’t make much of an impact to their numbers compared to moving someone who is already part of the framework. Although having a new blood in the team may have it’s advantages, the disadvantages could still outweigh its advantages.

So I was given the question again, would I consider moving? I knew that question is coming my way, I just didn’t know when. So I wasn’t too surprised when that question was asked but I was disappointed though for it was still asked. Hay… So now, I am at a crossroad once more and asking myself, which path to take. Should I stay where I am at or should I move towards an unfamiliar territory?

New Week!!!

   Posted by: michy   in General

Monday, the start of a new week. Today’s the first day of week 2 for training. Shocks, it going to be another nose bleeding session. Wootsie!

I am looking forward to a lot of things this week. First, the training of course. Then on Wednesday is our business meeting in Marco Polo and then the General Assembly and elections of Board of Trustees of iLearners on Saturday. Wootsie! I can’t wait to see my fellow iLearners this weekend. We haven’t seen each other for quite a while now. I hope my schedule won’t change so that I can go and see them :).

Thank God for a Weekend Off

   Posted by: michy   in General

Since I am back to training, my schedule changed and that includes my rest days. Thank God for this weekend off for I will be able to go to the Back to School Project of our company with Gawad Kalinga. I will be going to Talisay, Cebu later for the turnover of the school supplies that we were able to collect. Then, I will go to Ayala to pick up a new fluorescent lamp for the one in our kitchen is no longer working. It’s going to be a busy day since I plan to stretch my muscles a bit before I head out today. Hay, and I am up so early and I feel like I still want to hit the sack. Hmmm… I guess I will just get an hour of stretching my muscles in bed… That didn’t sound right, I think. Hehehe…

How about a new concept?

   Posted by: michy   in General

I am thinking of visiting a restaurant each week or every payday and try out their food. And write about them in my blog. Hmmm… But I need a camera. I wonder if my friends will lend me their camera for my blog. I already have a couple of things in mind. A friend of mine is bragging about the halo-halo of Vienna Bistro and that it tastes better than Razon’s which my friends from Manila are bragging about. I am also planning to try the coffee of Coffee Dream. Starbucks, Coffee Bean, Bo’s and Coffee Dream are like the 4 major brands of coffee shops in Cebu so I want to try it out. I haven’t tried the coffee from Coffee Cat too. Hmmm…

I think I am a coffee addict. Or is it that I want a coffee shop for myself which is why coffee shops are like my favorite spots these days? Hmmm…

Froccino for 50 Pesos at Bo’s

   Posted by: michy   in General

Yup! You got that right! I actually got a frocinno at Bo’s in IT Park for 50 pesos earlier today. This is in celebration to their 15th year anniversary and for opening their 50th branch. On Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 28th to July 21, 2011, one can buy their short brewed coffee for 15 pesos only from 10AM to 3PM and their tall Froccino for 50 pesos from 3PM to 7PM and 12MN to 4AM (for their 24-HR stores). Woots!!! It was a lifesaver for I was so damn sleepy earlier that I almost fell asleep while listening to a call. A friend of mine told me to get some coffee as a way of teasing me, so I got out of the office and grabbed one. I felt so relieved on the first sip. It felt like I have been longing to have that taste in my mouth that when it touched my tongue, I felt energized and relieved. It was like a welcoming feeling when the taste of the coffee touched my tongue and when my nose smelled the aroma of brewed coffee. The coffee jelly froccino was made just right. Not to sweet and not too bitter. However, the jelly was too soft though unlike the coffee jelly of Starbucks and oh, their cream tastes funny. It was sweet and had a buttery texture. It wasn’t like the whipped cream of Coffee Bean (which I like the most for its flavor) and Starbucks. But it went well with the coffee once you mixed it with the coffee. However, don’t eat the cream on it’s own for it was like eating sweetened butter or something. Maybe Bo’s should consider changing how they prepare their whip cream or change the brand that they’re using.

Maddi Jane

   Posted by: michy   in General

A friend mentioned this girl to me two weeks ago.  I couldn’t relate to what she said for I never heard of Maddi Jane.  While fixing my article of Price Tag of Jessie J (which until this moment, I haven’t really fixed) I ran into a video of Maddi Jane doing a rendition of Price Tag.  Well, the kid can really sing and she has a beautiful voice but I think she still needs to find her genre and her identity.  There is not doubt that this girl can sing and her voice is beautiful but while listening to her, I feel that her singing still lacks the emotion that these songs has in them. See, what makes a song a beautiful song is when the listener gets to connect to that song.  And for a singer to make that connection, he or she must add the correct emotion to capture the attention of the listener.  But nevertheless, Maddi Jane will be one of the artists that I would want to watch and see as she grows into the artist that she can be.  In short, an artist that we should watch out for.  Here is one of her rendition of one of my favorites songs: Jar of Hearts by Christina Perri.  For me, this is her best performance out of the 8 videos that she has on Youtube.

Jessie J’s Price Tag

   Posted by: michy   in General

What if everybody really did come with a price tag? How much do you think you’re worth?

Seems like everybody’s got a price,
I wonder how they sleep at night.
When the sale comes first,
And the truth comes second,
Just stop, for a minute and
Smile

Woots!!!

   Posted by: michy   in General

Been busy these last 2 weeks for iLearners and SWC. Truth is, I feel guilty for I wasn’t paying much attention to my team recently. But I sure hope they’d understand that these organizations is as important to me as my team members. For what we did with these organizations these past 2 weekends is to help out kids who are in need and I hope we will be able to help more kids in the future.

Will try to grab some pics and post more details on our experience on these outreach here.

CAPITAL T-I-R-E-D

   Posted by: michy   in General

Haaaaa… Nothing beats a good bath to soothe one’s tired muscles. And then follow it up with a good meal! :) Good thing Sr. San Pedro in Lahug was still open when I passed by. I was on my way home from Nayki’s place. Nayki is one of the members of iLearners Inc. We packed the bags at their place. Packing the bags for tomorrow started at 2PM today and ended at 8PM. Whoaah!!! And we thought it will only take us until 6PM to finish everything. Never been this tired for a long while.

Good thing there were other iLearners who helped with the packing (imagine filling out more than a hundred bags for the kids of Lunas). If they weren’t there to help out, we might still be packing the bags until now. And thannk goodness that the ever so chatty Bikoy and the other members of the F4, Dave and Shimmer were there. They made the packing fun. Hahaha… Bikoy’s comments on his group mates are so funny that they would laugh at it themselves.

Tomorrow is a big day for the iLearners. We will be going to Lunas to distribute the bags. Do pray for us to have a safe trip going there and back to our homes. Good night!!!
