It’s not a feasible thing to have.

I remember a sermon of one of the parish priests of the church that I go to every Sunday on the behavior of the new generation.  He said that the new generation loves to shut the world out of their lives.  One manifestation is their love of putting on their ear phones anywhere they go to listen to music on their iPods or any portable mp3s or playing video games.  Although this is not what the inventors of the products have in mind when they invented these gadgets, many youngsters use it for such purpose.  Do you ever notice how some youngsters pretend to be listening to their music in the car when they don’t want to talk to anyone or listen to their parents?  Curious about whether his conclusion is right or wrong, he asked a lot of teenagers why they love to always have an earphone stuck in their ears anywhere they go but one answer kinda stuck on me during that sermon. A youngster answered “it’s like having a soundtrack in your life Father.”  I was like what?!  Sheesh, it’s either this kid is into movies or he thinks his life is a movie.  Well, in a way life is like a movie but I hope this kid will not live in denial.  And besides doesn’t he realize how expensive it is to use a song in a movie?  Music companies charge broadcasting companies everytime they play a song.  This is why, some productions would rather create their own music to use in their projects.  Some would use products like Reason drum kits to create royalty free music for their productions.  However, music can never really be royalty free.  Truth is royalty free music was created just to make licensing music easier, cheaper and more convenient.  Having a background music in our daily lives is never feasible.
