Sunday, January 18, 2009.  Today’s is the celebration of the feast of the Child Jesus (Sto. Nino) here in Cebu.  This is probably one, if not the biggest and grandest day of Cebu City.  It’s like the attention of the whole country is directed to the Cebu Province as the celebration goes to the streets.  If New Orleans has a Mardi Gras, the Cebuanos have this celebration where the street dancing starts as early as 9 AM and ends at 9 PM.  Too bad though, I will be working tonight so I will have to make do with watching the celebration on TV.  I know I should be glad to just stay home for the view is better and I can avoid the BIG crowd on the streets but if you’ve been to this kind of celebrations, you can really say that it’s different when your in the middle of everything.  When you’re on location, you get to hear the music, the laughter of the people watching and your friends that you will meet along the way.  Hay…  Maybe next year I get to watch it on the streets again.  Anyway, as what the Cebuanos would say to the people that they meet on this day, Pit Senyor everyone!
