Resolving Issues

Communication is one of the most important aspect in resolving issues and conflicts.  Sometimes, we hate to admit it but talking really helps.  This is evident on the rate of suicide incidents on women compared to that of men.  I know that it’s a bit far fetch but a lot of experts believe that the low number of incidents of suicide among women is due to their willingness to talk about the problem.  So how does talking help?  They said when people talk we get to unload some of the awful feelings that we got from an incident.  This makes us feel a little better of the situation.  And through talking to other people, one can get advises on how to face ones challenges in life.  You know at times we feel that we are in too deep that we no longer know how to get out of the hole that we got stuck into?  Without any intervention or communication from the people around us, we sometimes resort to a lot of things just to get away, we lie, we get into alcohol, drugs and much worse, some of us commit suicide.  Although family intervention is crucial to any issues, one may also consider getting professional help especially if it will involve issues with drugs.  Drug detoxification is not an easy process.  And convincing someone to even consider going into drug rehab is even harder.  A good and solid communication and relationship between family will definitely be a great help.  So my advise to the families out there, start building a good and strong relationship between the family members.  And this can start on having meals together where everyone is seated around the dining table and gets a chance to talk to one another.  The sooner we start the better it would be for the family.
