I was going through SAG’s Worst and Best dressed on Golden Globe’s red carpet when I saw the dress of Angelina Jolie. It’s a very simple dress that not a lot of people can make it stand out in the crowd. So who can pull this dress off? Well, first that person should be slim to skinny. Because, I think the top will make a big woman look even bigger. So I might need a few weight loss pills if I want to wear this dress. And then that person should have an attitude when she wears it. Why? Because if you will look at the dress, not a lot is going on in it so it will really boil down to how you wear it. This one looked good on Angelina because she has that confidence oozing all over while wearing it.

There are a lot of changes going on in my life right now and somehow, I feel like I am dreading it. Agents moving to other teams (something that I am not that happy about), new people coming into the account. A lot of movements within the group. Somehow in all of these chaos, it seems that my insecurities and uncertainties are slowly eating my confidence up. I don’t know how it came about but I guess it has a lot to do about the people around me. I feel that they only see my weaknesses. Although it is good to have people around you who would give you feedback on how you’re doing and giving you the urgency to fix it, however, having someone to help you and tell you how to strengthen your weaknesses is much more appreciated. They say that the first thing to do to fix things is to recognize that there is something out of place. But how can you fix something that you don’t know how to fix? So it would really help to have someone in the background who will help you get things done. You know sometimes, at the end of the day I ask myself, is it really worth the trouble? A friend told me to stop asking myself this question for if I start to do so, doubt comes into the picture and things will start to fall apart. And I guess she’s right. I have been feeling really down these days. And so I wonder if it will ever go away.
Christiano Ronaldo
No doubt this guy is both good looking and a good soccer player but he is bobo… No offense sports fans but I have seen his interview after he got his trophy for winning the “Young Player of the Year” award from PFA and I was disappointed. OMG! I don’t know if it has something to do with the language barrier but by GOD he was so full of himself! Tsk, tsk, tsk! He’s lucky he’s good looking and a good player. You know people are so forgiving when to comes winners.
I was talking to some people the other week. It was just a random conversation when it went to a topic about one of subordiFine, I can take any feedback forom anybody and I am glad that ssomone told e about it. nates. I know that I needed to walk the talk however I am puzzled on how people think and judge other people. Apparently one of my agents said that “I told her what I wanted to be but she (referring to me) just told me that I should not be late.” And then there was this one instant were she told another colleague that “My TL is late again.” Fine, I admit, I get late sometimes and maybe, maybe I don’t have the right to say what I told her. But then, what does she want me to say? If she wants to be that someone that she wants to be, then she should work her ass off right? And she shouldn’t let what’s going on around her affect her job. If people are going late and she hates that, then she shouldn’t go late right? Freak! And so I pondered on what was talked about and I realized no matter what you do and give up will not please everybody. That all those extended hours of work that I put in each day to make sure that everything will turn out right apparently is not enough. All she could see are my shortcomings (which I tried so hard to overcome) and interprets my words in a negative way. How could she? What makes things worse is that she doesn’t tell it to my face that she has a problem with me being her supervisor. When I ask her if she has any concerns, she would just say “nah, it’s okay.” Tsk, tsk, tsk. I am even sacrifing my rest days, missing the tasks that can affect my own stats just to make sure that all the things that can affect their score is well taken care of and here comes a person who is complaining about my being late. I understand that I should be a role model and should not be late when I report to work but then, why is she the one complaining. Shouldn’t it be my supervisor who should complain about it? I am seldom late. And the reason for my being late is because sometimes my body couldn’t take the long hours of work any more. I guess AMA was right. Because of the tasks that I am missing is affecting me personally. It is affecting my rank as a team lead, missing a lot of my sleeping hours and missing the opportunity of watching movies. I guess it is about time that I give more time in accomplishing my tasks instead of taking care of people who are not exactly helping themselves succeed.
Even Angels Get Sick
I spent around 4 hours in Cebu Doctors hospital yesterday to visit my godson. Syd and his mom came to Cebu to celebrate Sinulog but 8 month old Syd spent 5 days of his vacation in the hospital. Tsk, tsk, tsk. Poor kid. And since his dad was not able to register him as a dependent in his insurance and his mom is out of work, he was placed in a ward with 20 other kids aging a little less than a year old to 5 years. He shared a made shift room with a little girl who will be celebrating her first birthday on the 26th of January who has is having difficulty digesting her food. She looked so frail and thin and only falls asleep after an episode of crying. Hay poor kids!
When I was sitting there on a bench, I realized how difficult it is to be a parent of a sick kid especially if the kid can’t even speak. The mom of the little girl cried while I was there but she did so while hiding her face from her daughter. I guess she didn’t want her angel to see that she was worried. Tsk, it really makes me wonder why a lot of kids get sick when from what I know, kids have a stronger immune sytem than adults. Or maybe I’m mistaken?
Due to the unexpected circumstances of visiting the museums yesterday, Ponsing and I decided to go to Asiatown and have lunch at The Walk. We decided to eat at Mooon Cafe and I called up Weng if she wants to join us. She then brought Bena with her. Ponsing had their Mexican Pork Ribs, I had the Barbeque (which cost 120 pesos which I consider expensive for the size of their barbeque was really small considering the price), Weng had Spaghetti with Carbonara sauce and Bena had Fried Chicken Breast with Melted Mozerella. After lunch I decided to go to the office to listen to some calls while waiting for 3PM for our trip to MV Doulos, the floating bookshop. We then left for the bookshop at 4PM and arrived at the pier at around 4:30 PM (?) due to traffic. So after the struggle to board the ship due to the weirdest stairs that I have ever seen in my entire life we finally saw the books that they have on sale. Most of the books are available here in the Philippines but I got to say that it was indeed cheaper compare to the books that you will find in the books stores here. Although the difference isn’t as big as I expected it to be, a few peso difference is still money saved. My friends and I decided to go back there before it leaves for Manila in February to get more books.
So to sum the day up, it was a well spent day for I had the opportunity to spend time with my friends, get to board MV Doulos and do some work in the office. Oh and by the way, try the cookies that they have on sale. It’s delicious and big. hehehe…
The trip to the museums
Alright, I mentioned that Ponsing and I are going to visit some museums yesterday. And so, our first stop is the museum in USP. When he mentioned this museum, I then remembered that I saw it on tv and so I was pretty excited to go there. However, we were not able to get into the museum for it’s closed and they said that we need to setup an appointment. Wow, I didn’t know that appointments are needed to see artifacts! Although, I wasn’t really sure if I just missed the part about setting up appointments when I saw it on TV but the point there is how can you call it public when you need to setup an appointment. Am I naive or what? But anyway, so as not to ruin our day, we went to the Jose Rizal Library and Museum in Fuente but to our dismay, the museum has been closed for renovation for three years now. Whoah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These are just two of the many listed museums in Cebu but I am a bit worried for if the majority of the museums here in Cebu are closed then there is a great possibility that there is a very small population who are interested in knowing their history in the Philippines. And I just realized that we don’t even have a museum in my hometown itself. OMG! I don’t know about you but I really find that alarming. And it’s ashame that we do not have a museum there for I think our town has a great history and culture. If you go there, you will meet people with different ancestry. You will meet people who have ancestries from Itas, Chinese to Spaniards which means that there had been a lot of people who went and settled there. And am afraid that a lot of kids there doesn’t even know how our town became the capital city of Samar since I don’t know when, when it became a city just last year.
Some people think that getting a beautiful face and a perfect body is the answer to all of their insecurities. That if they only have a better shaped nose or a pouting lips will make them more confident. Since not everyone is blessed with a perfect body and not everyone has a beautiful face, some people will consider and will even undergo surgical procedures like breast augmentation uk style to correct what they think as an imperfection. However, human as we are, we can never be satisfied with what we have and getting what we want will not always make us happy. People in the cosmetic surgery industry knows that and they know people changes their mind very so often that sometimes what they are dying to have now may not be what they want in the end of the day. But what makes a surgical company like MYA Cosmetic Surgery stand out is knowing what client needs and so they have a free consultation where you get to talk to a trained patient coordinator who can discuss and answer questions that you may have about a procedure that you want to have before getting into a commitment. You then get to talk to a surgeon who will explain what needs to be done and explain it even further to make sure that by the time you have made up your mind and see the result of the procedure is exactly what you wanted it to be. After the surgery, the company then sets up follow up appointments with a registered nurse and your dedicated surgeon to make sure that everything is proceeding as it should be, which I believe is very important when you have undergone a procedure for our body needs to adopt to the change and sometimes, our body’s reaction maybe different from how other people which may bring out some worries in our end.
Trip to the Museums
After 2 hours of downloading from my phone to my laptop, my Sony Ericsson k700i is finally ready for my trip to the museum later today. My friend Ponsing have invited me to visit some museums here in Cebu. Am glad that he did for I thought I will never see these museums for it seems that most of my friends are not into them. Am really glad Ponsing became my team mate before I became a supervisor for that paved the way for us to become friends. Who would have thought he likes to visit old houses like me!
Pit Senyor Everyone!
Sunday, January 18, 2009. Today’s is the celebration of the feast of the Child Jesus (Sto. Nino) here in Cebu. This is probably one, if not the biggest and grandest day of Cebu City. It’s like the attention of the whole country is directed to the Cebu Province as the celebration goes to the streets. If New Orleans has a Mardi Gras, the Cebuanos have this celebration where the street dancing starts as early as 9 AM and ends at 9 PM. Too bad though, I will be working tonight so I will have to make do with watching the celebration on TV. I know I should be glad to just stay home for the view is better and I can avoid the BIG crowd on the streets but if you’ve been to this kind of celebrations, you can really say that it’s different when your in the middle of everything. When you’re on location, you get to hear the music, the laughter of the people watching and your friends that you will meet along the way. Hay… Maybe next year I get to watch it on the streets again. Anyway, as what the Cebuanos would say to the people that they meet on this day, Pit Senyor everyone!
