A few more hours and I’ll be on my way home. Finally! After two years of not spending Christmas with my family, I finally get to spend it with them this year. But I will have to travel for 6 hours for I will have to take the ferry later for I was not able to get a plane ticket that I can afford. hehehe… It’s 9PM now here in the Philippines and that means I have been awake for 22 hours now. Hay… I needed to finish some tasks in the office. I reported at 11PM last night and went home at around 5 PM today. Hay… Life! But looking at the bright side of things, at least I was almost able to finish everything. Well, almost.

Sleep…
You know at times like these when I don’t get enough sleep and when things start to get into my nerves, I remember our trip to Alegre. Although, the reason that we went there was still work, I’d really love to go back to that place. Not just because of its beautiful beach and euphoric leche flan but because of their beds. I never had a peaceful sleep as I had when I was there. Their beds are so perfect! I’m not sure what made it so. Was it the bed frames, the mattresses, the linens, the pillows or was it the comforters? But one thing that I could say is I slept well and when I woke up I feel so rested. No back pains, no headaches. Hay…
I will be going out for dinner later with Weng, Aisah and hopefully with Kriste. Like Weng, I love spending time with them for it’s like everything goes when we’re together. No pretentions, no holds bar. I guess that goes to the friendship that was developed while working together. A year past and there had been a lot of progress for all of us. I just hope that Kriste will be able to join us tonight. His mom’s sick and he’s really worried for her. I asked him how his mom is doing and what was the diagnosis but sadly the doctor at Chong Hua Hospital can’t find the reason why she fainted. Hay… I feel bad for Kriste. I just pray that their family will be able to go through this ordeal soon and spend Christmas together at their home not the hospital.
With all of the security issues that’s going on around us, one cannot help but worry about one’s safety. Although I’m not into guns and I’d probably won’t get one for myself, I can understand people who prefer to have a gun at home. However, one shouldn’t just go for any guns. One should also consider the quality of the gears that one stake their lives on. And great quality means great history of the manufacturer and who uses it’s products. A great example of this is Tapco. This company has been around for 30 years and provided services to the military, professional and outdoor gear and clothing to consumers, resale, government, and institutional customer segments through retail, direct mail (catalog), e-commerce, AAFES, and contract sales. In fact, Tapco guns is well known to the military around the world for it’s top of the line quality. However, be informed that they will no longer do retail selling in 2009 due to the great demand on their products. Truth is, their back-ordered until 2009. So when a consumer wants to buy their gears will have to go through a dealer. If a consumer does not have a preferred dealer yet, then one can go to their website or search the web for a dealer nearest their area.
I went out with madam principal, the dean, the master and the teacher farrah to eat siomai yesterday near Robinson’s at Feunte, Cebu. Everything went well. The siomai was yummy. I used to just eat the siomai there however, since there was no other choice, I went ahead and ate puso. I don’t usually eat puso (rice cooked in a palm leave) for I am scared of how it was prepared, but a lot of my friends have eaten in that place so I felt confident in eating there. But after a couple of hours, my stomach ached. Damn it. I won’t eat puso na. Ever!
I don’t know about other cultures but in the Philippines, staying in touch to your love ones is a vital part of our daily lives. We can’t pass a day without talking to our love ones even if they are just in other provinces. I think it is an innate nature of the Filipinos to care and worry about our relatives and friends especially when we don’t get to see them a lot. But thank God for the technology that we now have, calling home is cheaper compared to a couple of years back. Nowadays, I get to speak to my mom at least 15 minutes a day for 15 pesos using a local service provider. And you could just imagine how unhappy she gets when a day passes by without me calling her when she is just in Samar and I am just in Cebu. Thinking about her, I could just imagine how those moms whose kids are studying in the US feel… And so as caring as we are we usually want to have a convenient way to contact one another. Good thing, like the local phone companies here in our country, there are companies in the US like Get Me Calling Cards which offers international calling cards where, your kids studying in US can call from the United States to the Philippines using their Philippines calling cards and let moms place a call from the Philippines to the United States to their kids in the US at a very low cost still using Get Me Calling Card’s Philippines Phone Card. The good thing about this cards is, it’s so convenient that you can reload it and you can purchase the load on the internet.
I admire the guts of this reporter for throwing shoes at the most powerful man in the world. But I admire Bush more for coming up with his answers when a reporter asked him about it.
It’s not that I don’t like animals, I just don’t have the time to take care of them. You know getting a pet means having additional responsibility. When you take them in, it means you are going to take care of them. From the food they eat to the pet supplies that they may need like their shampoo and brushes for their fur. And most importantly you have to have the time to spend with them. Like for dogs, you must have the time to play with them and walk them to the park or even just around the corner of your building for if you don’t they’ll be unhappy. That’s why, I always nag my brother whenever I see him neglecting his dog. Because it’s not right for him to do that. He decided to take a dog so he should find time to take care of it no matter what.
Nowadays, we really need to get our money’s worth. It is not enough to just say this one will do. We should always go for more if we can. We should never settle for less. Like for instance, if you are planning to build a structure for industrial purposes like for barns, I recommend putting up steel buildings instead. Although cemented and wooden buildings are sturdy, steel buildings are easier to maintain and more cost efficient for it will require lesser materials and lesser man power to put up.
I really love our company Christmas Parties for our Site Director always see to it that the party will be special. We had our Christmas Party last night at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino. And just like any of our company Christmas Party most of us really went out of our way to look good and make the party very special for everyone. We had Christian Bautista, a ballader from the Philippines who is one of those who really has a gift in singing, serenade the crowd. Although, I didn’t like the food that much and was not able to enjoy the party for I had to leave early for work, I was still happy for I saw my crush from Makati. I didn’t know he was there until I saw him in the aisle going to the hall where we were having our party. I met him during our training in Makati and yes he was handsome then eventhough he was just wearing a long sleeved polo and trousers. Although he told us to say hi to him when we see him, I didn’t say hi. For He was looking fab in his suit as usual and stood out in the crowd. Hehehe…
