Outdoor Ads

digital signageDue to globalization, winning your targeted market becomes tougher and tougher.  Companies who wants to remain competetive are on the lookout for the best way to reach a wider audience to promote their products.  Hence Outdoor Ads was born.  Although outdoor ads are not new in the world of advertisement.  It’s only the media used that changes but the concept is old.  Outdoor ads can go back to ancient Greece and ancient Rome were businessmen used papyrus to advertise their products.  As technology evolved, people started printing it on paper (when printing machines were invented), then we have the billboards which I think replaced the wall painting ad campaign concept in most countries and then my favorite of all, the digital signage ad which, I think was pioneered by the Japanese (you will have to correct me on this if am wrong).   The good thing about digital signage is it’s so versatile that you can use it indoors.  Companies can also use them to communicate important information to it’s employees, it’s eye catching so information can be desiminated faster (I mean who wouldn’t look up to those moving images right?).  It’s cost effective (for companies who wants to improve their sales, for compared to putting an ad on tv digital signage gives you more “air time”), effiecient (for you wouldn’t need to have your employees waste their time giving out pamphlets) and above all it’s environment friendly (for you don’t need paper for this concept.  All you need is a screen to display the images and a media player to play the ad).

electrolux-flatshare-fridge 4AM, September 17th, 2008.  After eating my “breakfast”, I went ahead and went through my messages on my chatbox and clicked on the links of my fellow bloggers.  And so I was brought to the Technology in Daily Life’s site and saw this refrigerator which reminded me of my friends who complained about missing food that are stored in the fridge.  And the culprits… are the rats that stands on two legs and can look around the fridge without disturbing what’s inside of the fridge.  And since there are a lot of you in the house, you can’t point your finger to whoever because you are not too sure if your charges are correct.  So for those friends of mine, here is the answer to all your worries.  A flatshare fridge with multiple doors so each one of you can actually get his/her space.  With this new model, you will no longer hear lines like “oh I’m sorry, I thought that was mine,” or “it wasn’t me”.  However, am not sure if these doors comes with a lock.  I hope they do.  If not, then I sure hope that Electrolux, the manufacturers of the said fridge will consider adding that into their designs.  Hehehe… ;-)
